During the last trip to Turkey it was often very frustrating for me because they would not allow tripods, small or big. A trick that worked perfectly was in fact to keep the ball head on my camera . Nobody objected any longer. So I used and abused this trick from that day on. It really works perfect. At the end it is also easier and then a tripod.
