Hi, Greg:

Well, I've quickly become a fan of your work.

This is a wonderful image. The composition is wonderful as is the colour and exposure. I really like how the reflected image of the tree draws the viewers eye into the photo. Then, the diagonal of the shoreline further draws his eye through the remainder of the image.

Since I know that you spot meter most, if not all, of your photos, I'm curious to know what you metered here: Was it the water with a 1/2 to 1 stop underexposure added to get the correct effect?

Anyway, great work!

Cheers,
Glenn #4234

Thanks so much for your kind words.

I'm not sure I remember - this happened so quickly - I was just moving around and experimenting with the settings without paying much attention - rotating dials until the exposure was close - it also required some work in PS to bring out the details at either end of thelight spectrum. I was so excited to see this - I didn't know whether it would turn out. There is too much latitude in light vlaues to get all the details at either end with slide film. #4235
