Description

Here’s a glorious experiment. I shot for an hour inside The Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral (Charleston, WV) with natural overcast lighting only. When the caretaker asked if I wanted some light, I said no. The church was dark! Took two minutes for my eyes to acclimate after walking in. Thus the lighting of this stain glass window is quite muted. Trying to make this composition interesting, I cropped to emphasize the pronounced C-curves and set the eyes of the saint on the lower horizontal third.
Jim – I’ll beat you to the punch. I started shooting @ ISO 400 and got nothing; had to crank it up.
