Abandoned Home

Uploaded: May 28, 2003

Description

This image was taken in Bodie CA., with an Hp digital camera. This was one of the "fancier " homes in this deserted gold mining town. I used the magic wand tool in PhotoShop, to select the lighter areas in the image. Then I experimented with several filters and settled on the angled brush filter. I then selected the building and fence and used variations to slightly lighten the wood.

Thank you Murry. I think I'm just scratching the surface with the things that can be done with photoshop but I don't mind sharing some of the things I have learned. #106668

I like everything about this except the windows Dandelion, I'm not a photographer but I would have left those clear...but then maybe that would have taken something away from the rest of the color in the picture. Anyway, very nice and I love the way you highlighted the rest of it :) #109954

Thanks Daisy. I didn't touch the windows. That is the reflection of the sky. I didn't even think of taking the reflection out. That's the nice thing of using a digital darkroom. I'll have to try it and see what it looks like. #114491
