Limestone

Uploaded: September 08, 2011

A sculptural detail from the cathedral; the foot from a large figure of Adam. The limestone has such wonderful texture, which I tried to highlight.
(Actually shot with Rebel XTi--forgot to change the camera selection when uploading!)

Agree with Dayna, Patti and Lindley on the texture -- definitely one of my first impressions when I opened the thumb. Super lines, too. #9677602

Thank you, Nikki! I'm relieved that in all the quake damage, none of Frederick Hart's masterpiece sculptures on the front of the building were damage---of which, this image is a partial detail. #9678295
