Dragon's Wing

Uploaded: September 04, 2011

This is a macro of a flower shot through a dragonfly's wing. The dragonfly was sitting motionless on the flower, and allowed me to get within 1/2 inch to take this shot. 100 mm, f/22, 1/8.

Exif: F Number: 22, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/8 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 100.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 50D

Amazing. I've never been able to get a dragonfly stay still long enough for me to take a decent macro portrait, let alone make a picture through his/her wing. Love your image. Looks like a stained glass piece. #1406170

Thanks, Loan. It was a first for me too - they usually move way to fast for me. #9653078
