Now that's a cool idea, Misty. Very creative and colorful. #9397825

That is so cool, how did you do it? Do you use a paintbrush to do the individual dots, I am so not savvy like that.. hahah #9398330

Misty Blue May 10, 2011

Thanks everyone, I do appreciate it.

Nicole - Those are colored water drops that I placed on the needle, no brushes. Its a macro shot so they are actually very small.

Oh wow! I thought maybe you colored each one seperately with PS or something. You put each drop on there seperately??? #9398622

Misty, how did you get the green plunger? Did it come that way? In my work environment I encounter and have worked with a lot of syringes but I have never seen colored parts. Mostly just black rubber stoppers on the ends of the plungers. I like how that turned out. You did a great job on it. #9398627

This is fabulous, you really have some creative ideas! #9398690

Yes , Nicole I put each individual drop on the needle.

Dan ~ This is a insulin syringe (I think it really looks BIGGER than it is) and its green by the magic of food coloring and water, LOL. This was not my "planned" shot, it just happened. I have several syringe shots but I haven't uploaded them yet. I posted the first picture and after I really looked at it I discovered the syringe was way to noisy, but the needle and the drops were fine. So I took that one down and used the selection tool and then softened it.

Thanks Laura ~ I don't always get to get out much so I have to be creative and find stuff to shoot in my house.

Thanks for the explanation Misty. I suspected that it might be an insulin syringe and a very small CC volume size owing to the narrowness of the body in relationship to the Leur-Loc cap. Good creative work with the colored water. #9399674

To answer Nicole, :-) the "real" world for me, or as they say, "day job" actually is in the medical electronics field so I spend my time (when I do work) in hospitals. So yes, I am exposed to the world of hypo syringes, patient monitoring, anesthesia machines and currently instrument sterilizers. Ahh, but retirement looms close. :-) #9408809
