Cathedral of St. John the Baptist - Savannah

Uploaded: April 25, 2011

My wife and I took a Easter weekend trip to Savannah, GA and Hilton Head this weekend. On our way out, she convinced me to walk an extra 2 miles (and fight through some painful blisters) to check out this highly recommended Cathedral, and it was definitely worth it.

Since we were doing a bit of walking, I didn't have my tripod with me, and with the low-light, long shutter speeds are required.

To get a unique shot in this often photographed place, I decided to set my camera with the wide-angle lens on, face up on one of the pews right next to one of the columns.

This shot is a black and white version of a 3-exposure HDR.

This is definitely best viewed large and on black - just click the image to see it that way...
