Breaking through defense

Uploaded: August 28, 2005

1/200 second at f/5.6, ISO 1600, EOS 100-400mm at 400mm, Spartan Stadium, August 27, 2005 at 9:39pm.

Los Angeles Galaxies top scorer, Donovan, breaks passed a San Jose Earthquakes defender.

The Image Stabilizer feature of the lens worked pretty well. Here, I'm hand holding a 400mm lens at 1/200 second. I wish it were a stop faster, but I did not want to move up to ISO 3200. The big 500mm f/4.0 lens would be nice here (and I did see a professional photographer carrying on on the ground), but any sticks bigger than a pencil is prohibited at the stadium.
