Green offers Promise

Uploaded: March 29, 2011

Description

'Fireweed' spourted up almost miraculously three months after we had a controlled fire to clean up a pile of treefall debris on our acreage in South West British Columbia, Canada. When I read up on 'Fireweed' I was amazed at how long seeds would remain dormant in the ground awaiting the conditions Fireweed needs to germinate = a fire opens access to needed sunlight. It took at least 32 years here for the seeds to germinate that I am aware of. Gorgeous tall very striking blossoms that sway in the breeze like ballet dancers.
