Description

Finally a different perspective on the famous icon. I arrived on a cloudy day, hoping to find an atmosphere or an unsual mood to create an image different from a million others taken here. I realized it when I descended into the "bowl" and found these tiny pools from rain earlier that day. I knew that with a very wide angle and calm conditions the arch could be captured, reflected. Amazingly the skies cleared later that day on the eve of the full moon which rose above the arch an hour before sunset. I raced out to the pools again, to find three dozen photographers perched on the typical spot on the hill shooting the arch against the la sals and clear skies. I think they wondered why I was down below, but no one followed. Canon 17-40L, 3 stop ND Grad, Fuji Velvia.

How can one single out the best image in your gallery? You have some stunning creations and I love the detailed explanations! These pictures are taken in such a powerful landscape and colored and worked so beatifully!

I'm glad I decided to check your work, there is plenty for me to study! This one is another winner in my book! The other photographers at the scene do not have your perspective and talent, I'm sure!
