A lovely dedication, Laura. Has been a year of nature's fury and makes us realise no matter how clever us humans become nature will always cut us down to size again.
Fortunately we haven't had any issues here where I live and I don't know anyone personally affected by flooding or cyclones but still my heart goes out to those affected. #9285871

Alex T. Mizuno March 11, 2011

Thank you cus for your thoughtful dedication. I have just received email from my sister in Tokyo. She confirmed her safety. But I still cannot reach none of my relatives and some of my friends :( #9285905

Thanks Laura, your thoughtfulness is appreciated. Our neighbours had a Japanese family staying with them after the 6.3 devastated their home here in Christchurch. They decided to go back to Japan to escape the aftershocks here. I hope they are safe. My heart goes out to the people of Japan, such devastation. We have a lot to deal with here, I can't imagine what they must be going through, a Tsunami on top of an earthquake, unimaginable. #9285927

It's too awful for words to describe what happened. And all we can do is pray for the people involved.
I know the governments around the world are helping as much as they can and we can support them in that.
A wonderful dedication, MSSSLala. And a very powerful image. Impressive work!! #9286577

Aloha Laura! Mahalo for the card..my husband was at Sea level helping/security at the Marriott..and we live a mile up in Ka'anapali, so all the tourists come to park up here. Mabe 80 cars, so at 2 AM, I'm running little old ladies to my home in my golf cart for the bathroom, (as none are here), passing out water and TP for the fields..waiting for 3 AM to hit to see how we are..a little damage to the docks..but all in all we are OK. The tourists had to stay in their cars until 5 AM or later..hardest on them! But we thought we'd get slammed this time the quake was so big! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers..I am convinced that made a difference. Aloha! #9291439

ALL OF YOU..So good to hear from you. So glad that, so far, we are all okay. Kathy, you are so dear!!!

I am very concerned for Alex's family. Alex, are you still connected here? Have you heard from any more of your family???

You know what you guys? I am only one person. But together, as a family, we are many. I don't want any credit for anything other than bringing us together as humans on BP who care. :) A place for us to meet.

I am sorry if I have EVER made ANYONE here feel forgotten or uncared for. It has NEVER been my intention.

Every word on this thread is important. Thanks everyone.

Daniella, I bet just WAITING for those waves was scary!

I have missed you all very much. So happy to see you all!!!

-Laura

P.S. Still waiting to hear from Ulysses...

Kim Andelkovic March 15, 2011

So many things to think about nowadays.......floods, fires, wars now earth quakes and Tsunami's........the heartache of it all is to much to bare at times......the sadness people are feeling, loosing their children and children loosing their parents....families that have lost everything......not knowing.........what to do or where to go......I wish all the disasters would STOP and let people live in peace all over the world....we have one world that we should look after and one lifetime that we should be able to live it.......

We will always remember the loss of this terrible tragedy.

Wonderful job Laura as always dear lady :-)

So many tears being shed, Pom --- they must rival the tsunamis in volume...
Let's all pray that the worst of the nuclear plant breakdowns are over. The Japanese (and anyone visiting the island that day)have been through more than enough!!
Prayers continue for New Zealand. There aren't enough words to describe how dreadful these past few weeks have been. Your image, as always, is perfect for the occasion. #9293682

Kathy Coombs March 16, 2011

It was heart breaking to see even the dogs in Japan..one would not leave an injured dog..they were finally helped..just aother layer to think of..new here on Maui is 24/7..and evertone is scared of the cloud..but we have been assured that we are out of the jet stream and far enough away..still prayers will be good.
