Catching Air ~

Uploaded: February 24, 2011

Description

This was such a fun shot! It was taken thru my side view mirror catching a glimpse of Freddy with his head out of the back window of the car. I borrowed the Nikon D3100 Camera for this picture. The only real adjustment I made was a small crop and a drop shadow effect using Adobe Photoshop. Focal Length 55mm Exposure Time 1/250 sec ISO Speed 3200 and I did not use a Flash ~
I rescued Freddy from a local Humane Society in October of 2010 and by the way it looks, HE is "LOVING LIFE"

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 10/2500 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 3200, FocalLength: 55.00 mm, Model: NIKON D3100

So I am just browsing through this months theme category, and I am drawn to this shot. I love how you framed Freddy inside the side view mirror. Congrats on saving Freddy, and showing us how he enjoys life. #9263674

Thanks Polly and Rob! I hoped the judges would give this photo a second look. The thing is....Freddy just seems special because of his story and the fact that I found him in our local Humane Society. "Actually, I think he found me, but that's another story" LOL! He is quite serious, but when he can, he seems to take on life to the fullest and the theme "LOVING LIFE" was perfect for this shot. #9277990

Well girl, I would'nt worry to much about the judges. Aa an artist you do what you enjoy. Thats why I don't enter into the contest anymore. I want to do my own thing.
I love the way this shot turned out for you and Freddy is definitely enjoying life from what I see. The use of the rear view mirror makes the shot all that much more creative and you managed to use that camera while on the fly with amazing talent.
I always enjoy going though the galleries of people I meet and to me girl you have so much creativity and talent and I really enjoy your works of art. Such a beautiful variety from your work with people like what I think is an award winning picture of the kid sitting on the floor in to hallway to the work you do with cars, horses, and just about anything you choose as a subject.
Gorgeous place to spend some time and enjoy my friend.
Have yourself a wonderful day. #9427409

Thank you Frank! You are soooo Kind! ;0) I can tell you that I am having a fantastic recently taking picture of these old cars and can't seem to get enough of it. Who knows.....It may just become more than a hobby if I keep going to these car shows.
Of course I went and looked at your gallery too and to me your pictures far exceed mine...as I think they are amazing.
Please keep in touch ~ I'll be watching your work....and I could use the critique now and then so I know how I am doing.
thanks...again...ali ~ #9455164
