Sunrise over the Haleakala crater in Maui, Hawaii

Uploaded: February 16, 2011

Description

Just as the sun rises over Maui you can grab a great exposure of the Haleakala crater, the highest point on the island. This was a seven exposure HDR merge, to keep the highlights in the fog and rocks, while keeping the sky from overexposing. There are zero saturation, curves or level adjustments here, just a great job by Photomatix to create the HDR with standard tone mapping! Nikon D300 with Sigma 10-20mm lens at 10mm, f/11.
