Nice Image Dan, is this one of the Hawaiian islands? #1345182

Thanks Art. Yes it is. This little island is maybe 20 miles off the coast of Kauai. The view is looking at it on the end and since it is longer than it is wide, we're seeing the narrow side of it so it extends much further back than we can see here. The little "island" to the right of it is a small uninhabited rock of sorts. I believe that it houses a wildlife preserve.

The island of Ni'ihau is inhabited by native Hawaiians only and acess to the island is by invite only. The residents live mostly a traditional lifestyle there. #9170111

Thanks Rita. The trip (cruise actually) was a long planned dream for my wife and I. We had wanted to go to HI for many years and it was always something for the future. How best to enjoy it on what might end up to be a one time visit was always the question. Where do you go and how do you get around? Unless you want to just stay in one spot and enjoy just one island, there is the matter of moving from island to island. When we came up with the idea of a cruise, that answered the question for us. Instead of having to check in and out of hotels at each destination, just take your hotel room with you. The cruise went from island to island and was the perfect way to see the place. At least for the first time.

You can also think of it as a bucket list thing. Don't put it off too long. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring or if we'll even have a tomorrow. #9182748
