#1301_Coon kit

Re-worked using all the techniques learned since taking classes at BP.com. I've improved tremendously since the image was captured in 2004. Masking helped enormously.

But since then, I've learned much more about masking, and darkening to lighten or lighting to dark, and using the gradient tool; and correcting the tonality of its coat, so I thought I'd try it again.
This original started out as burned out highlights and the only way it worked was to double process the image. Eventually, as my techniques improved, I saved those highlights and learned to add just enough contrast. It's been an ardous process. But, definitely worthy of a second try.
Your vote of confidence will help me. #9146838

This "sugar plum coon kit" came every day that year with her brothers and sisters and at first with their mom, to feast off the bird seed. As they became more creative scavanging all the seed, we became more creative.
The seed was removed and in its place an aerial (standing) watering device was retrofitted to hold a peanut wreath filled with raw peanuts. The hungry coon kits can to the wreath every day/night for about a month with their mother out of sight but nearby.
After the kits left about 8:30 p.m., I'd bring the peanut feeder into the house because the Norway rats would come out and contaminate everything. But, late the next day, the peanut feeder would be back in place.
The kits and I had a working relationship. They would receive free peanuts in exchange for portraits.
I miss them. #9148471
