My grandmother knows how to weave carpets...well, actually most of the older women in my family line know the trade. I remember being fascinated with the patience that carpet weaving requres when I was a little kid. To me it was simple- go buy a carpet. But like the face of this lady shows, it is more than just the carpet. My grandma and her friends used to gather and talk for hours about everyday things while taking turns on the carpet. Not anymore, though...times change.

Great moment to take the photo :) Congrats!

Hi Vasko
I was travwlling in Turkey about 2 months ago and visited a small village
in Kappadokia. There we were invited to
a carpet factory and saw the weman weaving. I was amazed at their patience
doing this work, because you are doing the same thing all day long.
What I learned was that there is a story
behind the stitches on every carpet and
its very interesting.
I think that the carpet weaving still
exist only in small villages around the
world. #3796
