Uploaded: November 27, 2010
Traffic stopped to let about 70 plus bisons go to this meadow..I was told we have bisons in the States and not buffalos..This info came from a ranger at The Grand Tetons,NP.

JUST FLAT OUT BEAUTIFUL. As for the NAMES Yes the Ranger is being very Specific but he is certainly correct. Bison are native to N. America & parks of Eastern EUROPE.
Buffalo are found in Africa & The Far East
They are FIRST Cousins... More proof that I'm way to familiar w/the Nature Channel ....
Bet the Ranger was VERY STRAIT LACED & NOT MUCH FUN ;o)
Happy Shooting

Wow, love this shot with the Tetons behind the bison, Maria. BTW, they look as good and photograph as well when we mistakenly call them buffalos, too. I see at least 5 calves in there, indicating a healthy herd. Another gorgeous image from yo0ur incredible trip! #9069541Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
