Description

Today the 15th. of August we celebrate the feast of Santa Maria. We have large festivities here due to Malta being a very religous island. It also happens that during WWII Malta was in desperate need of food and supplies and a very important convoy arrived on this day in 1942 which literally saved the population from starvation. So this feast is celebrated to the full with lots and lots of fireworks all over the island.
This photo was taken yesterday night. I used a 17-40 canon lens and zoomed in during the 5 second exposure. I took over 300 photos in 2 hours and this is just one of them!!! Hope you like it.

Seems Malta has a lot of celebrations on the same day that Belgium has, Laurence. It's St. Mary here today too, so we have a day of, no fireworks here though!
