Thanks--it's the first tornado I've actually had opportunity to photograph since moving to Kansas 17 years ago! :) #9028706

This is BEAUTIFUL Sky, I love all the wonderful tones, the great lighting, and, of course, the drama!! I have never seen on and I hop I never do!!! Hope no one was hurt. <>< #9555830

Thanks Nancy! It was on the ground over open country for several hours. It did eventually do some structural damage in a small town in OK, but fortunately that was the extent of it. Most of the tornadoes that we see in our part of the world don't cause the kind of harm we've seen in other places (like Joplin) this year because we can SEE them coming for miles and they mostly travel over open country. Occasionally, they do hit someone's home, but even then, for the most part, the people have enough warning to get out ahead of time.
Thank you for taking the time to look. Your comments mean a lot to me! :0) #9555944

WOW Sky, that is incredible!!! The cows in the foreground is amazing! They don't even seem effected by it! That is truly a winning photograph! Glad there was no serious harm done by this one! Great capture!~ =)

Thanks Mary Beth! The tornado was actually over 50 miles away so the calf in the foreground wasn't feeling any ill effect. Being able to see for such a great distance sure makes tornado photography a lot safer! :0) #9567195

Good to hear you were safe! Glad you are not a storm chaser! It must have been awesome to see it at sunset like that! What a beautiful capture of Mother Nature!
