Northern Pygmy-Owl at sunset
Uploaded: November 03, 2010
Northern Pygmy-Owl (6 3/4", 2.5 ozs / 70g) visited and was searching for a fresh meal on November 2, 2010 on our acreage in South West British Columbia, Canada. Have been here for 34 & 3/4 years and have never observed this species here before. Northern Pygmy-Owls are diurnal ~ this one was right on time at sunset. The Northern Pygmy-Owl is the counterpart to the Saw-whet Owl.
