I love pictures of things encased in ice, Kathe and this one is no exception. I like the almost pastel colors in the leaves. I wouldn't change a thing. #9008370Michael Kelly November 01, 2010
I agree with Debbie very nice as presented. Great focus and color and the exposure is well controlled for a very high contrast subject.Fall Pops. For a real taste of the season. #9008551

Michael, that was funny. But I fear they might get caught between my teeth. #9008557Teresa H. Hunt November 01, 2010
Kathe, I really like this one. It's a very unique photo of fall leaves. :) #9008825Jeff E Jensen November 01, 2010
Awesome. I like it as is. #9008986Ellen H. Robertson November 01, 2010
love the frosted-ness of the ice. Beautiful colors. #9009033Dale Hardin November 01, 2010
I like this a lot. Love the softness of the colors and the way the ice embraces them almost tenderly. Lovely composition also. #9009549Rita K. Connell November 02, 2010
I really like this alot Kathe the colors of the leaves are prefect and very creative. as it was said your focus and exposure is really good. was this taken outside what was your light sourcedid you do this by freezing this in your freezer? #9010093

What a lovely find....the cool crisp feel to this along with the warmer colors of the leaves make for a great image. There is a rather bright area over the yellow leaf towards the top that you may want to darken by making a duplicate and applying a multiply blend (adjust opacity to taste). :~) #9010117Peter W. Mother Nature did a great job of composition and you did with capturing it Kathe.Joan E. Hoffman November 02, 2010
This is lovely Kathe.... great find! #9011180Kathleen Nealon November 03, 2010
Sorry but I can't accept your praise for this being a great find. Rita is right. I gathered these leaves last October in Maine and brought them back to Virginia. Then I arranged them in a glass cake pan with water and froze them. They stayed in the freezer until mid January when I finally got around to shooting them.Tim kept asking why they were in the freezer and I kept replying 'where else would I keep frozen leaves.'
I must admit that in that time, I had to remove some of the older cloudier top and add more water. But it was great fun. #9011864

I was wondering if maybe, this was "man-made". Wish I'd thought of that in time for our most colorful leaves. We didn't get a lot of colorful ones this fall. I will definitely keep this in mind for next year. Very creative, Kathe. #9012020Jeff E Jensen November 03, 2010
Very creative indeed. Great idea and execution, Kathe! #9012034Susan M. Reynolds November 06, 2010
Since I'm 9 days late on getting to this, I can see all the compliments but still want to add that yes, even though not found in nature, but a created photo, it is beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing.Peter W. Marks November 07, 2010
OK Kathe, I did not want to know that. Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth fairy and now Mother Nature's ice-images; all myth, fable and fakery. What's left I ask, what's left? #9018522Brenda K. Beatty November 07, 2010
Beautiful whoever the creator. #9018989Kathleen Nealon November 07, 2010
Thanks to all of you. Ah Peter, I was trying to come up with something clever to reply, but there is nothing left. Everyone is moving to the right. #9019660Stephen Shoff November 07, 2010
Kathe -- I saw this when you first posted it. Never commented simply because anything I would have said would simply have been stating the obvious. However it was created, you visualized and captured a wonderful image. #9019751Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
