Description

We have several of the Roebling family to thank for this wonderful suspension bridge completed in 1883. The design originated in the head of John Augustus Roebling, a Prussian immigrant who died before the work began. The task was then passed to son Washington. Serious complications caused by the bends prevented him from continuing, wife Emily completed the task. Read The Great Bridge

Dick, this is a wonderful presentation of a most famous bridge! It is probably one of the most exciting backdrops that is used in movies! My all time favorite is "Sophie's Choice! #1317253

Joannie,
This is a portion of one of my panoramas, approximately 25% of the total. It will be absolutely wonderful when the city completes their work on the Brooklyn Bridge Park. If I were to shoot from the promenade along the water with my 28mm prime lens I'd need to create a two or three row panorama to take in the full height of the skyline. I'll post the full pano soon. Too bad we are limited to such small proportions on this site. #8966345
