"What made me think of getting Texas tattoos?"

"Well, originally I had that "Texas Longhorn" on my shoulder which, to me, is symbolic of Texas. That was .. like, 7 or 8 years ago. Now I thought I would make it a theme So I decided to do "Texana" on the upper arm since I already have my Asian heritage on my forearm with the Philippines flag on my right shoulder. The individual tattoos are symbols of pride in my heritage and the place I call home. Texas is where I have lived the longest. San Antonio is the only place I've ever lived for more than three years. I never thought much about that until recently. Moving "downtown" made me fall in love with this place even more. It would take BIG paychecks to get me to leave here."

"Oh, let's see .. I have the "Alamo" with the "Tower of Americas" and a "Texas flag" on a pole shooting up behind it. Also, I just added four little fireworks bursts above the Alamo. A "Mockingbird" in flight. The "Yellow Rose of Texas". Just yesterday I added two BIG stalks of "Bluebonnets". And next, to finish the last space I have, will be a "Cowgirl" pin up! Definitely a cowgirl. She has to be in a kneeling position .. wearing a hat and a revolver."

"Do you know the legend of the Yellow Rose of Texas, Dad?"

One-quarter of the way thru your commentary, I KNEW who this must be...only your blood could have such a deep and abiding love of this great state...a superb portrait...great pose, wonderful colors and beautiful details...Now, I'm going to look up the legend of the Yellow Rose of TX myself - ashamed that I don't know it...but am fixin' to fix that! :) #8919595
