Black-headed Grosbeak fledgling

Uploaded: August 27, 2010

Description

Black-headed Grosbeak fledgling on our acreage in South West British Columbia, Canada, on August 27th at 2:33pm. This fledgling will be heading South for the winter season, & may even migrate as far as Mexico. In early Spring it will return to the breeding grounds, still looking remarkably as it does now. If it is a male (only the males, not the females) it will procede to start to change feather colourations and markings. This charmer is still being fed by both parents. Just an absolute joy to watch the interaction.
