Description

Sevilla, Riverside CA
The clean lines and geometric shapes atracted me to this spot. I croped out the landing at the left of the photo, so as to keep the viewer guessing what was coming next, another shape, another color ect. The one lone light and harsh noon shadows helped to break up the negitive space, on the right. I have to admit, there was a hedge at the lower left corner, it covered most of the railing at the bottom. I used Photoshop to remove the hedge and add the railing back in.

Wow, I was just notified that I won the World Wide Photo walk contest for this image, in Riverside. It was a big surprise to me because I didn't really enter a photo into the contest, but due to a mix up on where the contest entries were supposed to be posted, they included all photos.
The World Wide Photo walk was created by Scott Kelby, and sponsered by NAPP. The Riverside walk consisted of 50 photographers all walking in Riverside and snapping pictures along a predetermined route. Bob Adams was the walk leader, and one of the judges. They were having trouble picking a winner after narrowing down the pool of photos to 12, so they called in David A Williams, head judge at WPPI, to make the final decision. I am truly honored that they chose mine. #8853457
