Uploaded: August 12, 2010
I did take this with the sky as a background but changed it for a more pleasing sky.

Beautifully done...not always easy to get a new sky into little spaces between the petals!I have never seen an artichoke in flower--looks like a Mohawk do! #8821876

Kate I never realized that artichokes flowered, it resembles the flower of a chive - I am no gardener so feel free to put me straight if I am wrong. I really like what you have achieved - certainly a different view and interesting !!! #8821921Kate Jackson August 12, 2010
Thanks guys - Barbara I did do a quick check before committing myself to it being an artichoke. I looked at google images and they looked just like this one. Presumably we would eat them before they flower. #8821934Paul E. Earl August 12, 2010
They look a bit like a thistle flower!! Like the sky as a background! Terrific image! #8821961Barbara Mason August 12, 2010
Yep that is it Paul is right a thistle flower not a chive - on scrolling down Kate I noticed how if you take out the flower part - the clouds reflect the shape of the artichoke - food for thought so to speak !!! #8821980Tiia Vissak August 12, 2010
