Joyous Blue Jay
Uploaded: July 21, 2010
Joy radiates the air when birds find a warm pool of water in which to repetitively wash off the dirt of hollowed trees and vents where they hid from the cold winter. This blue jay was in the water three times and like a small child, went in head first, rolled around, really needed soap as he was still not clean. But his joy was captured with the reflective bubbles and the mirrored image.
After the original bird was corrected in Levels, he was selected with a pen tool and the AlienSkin Bokeh plug in was used to separate him and the bath from the busy background.
Flaming Pear plug-in was used to create the water. Reflective bubbles were created again in Layers using a technique taught by Jim Zuckerman. Finally, a mirrored image was created and a newly selected area was enhanced once again with the FlamingPear Flood plug-in, before taken into the PictureCode Noise Ninja.
Reinstated after accidentally removed.
