Beautiful. This reminds me of Africa or even Australia!

Question...was that forest there at one time and it got burned? I can't tell?

I know there was huge forest fires and much of the park was effected. Can you tell us more? is there a lot of new growth yet?

Thanks!

Thanks everyone.
Laura look closely you will see the trees growing in some places on the side of the gorge. The highly overcast conditions makes them difficult to notice. The walls of the gorge are very steep and crumbly, difficult to hold trees. While many areas in Yellowstone have been burnt I don't believe this area has been allowed to burn since it is close to many recreational areas. #8723512

Yes, true. That is VERY steep. I do see some lines of trees, too! Okay, thanks for the info. :) Up here our fires are USUALLY from careless campers or lightning. You sure saw some beautiful places! :)
