Rocky Mountain Columbine

Description

6/25 Flowers
The white and lavender columbine (Aquilegia caerules) became the Colorado state flower in 1891 when Colorado school children voted the Rocky Mountain columbine their favorite flower. When I lived in Colorado I frequently hiked Stanley Canyon, and finally this year (14 years later) I hiked it again with my children and found my favorite columbine field right where it always was.

Thanks, Mark. Yes - Tripod and remote release, it really makes a difference. Trying to get the mountain breeze to stop long enough to get the shot - another story, but worth the wait. #8717213
