Broomtail Overlook
Uploaded: June 24, 2010
Dead Horse Point State Park in Utah was once a place where cowboys would easily corral mustangs becuase the horses had no escape except this leap into the Colorado River. It got its name because of a group of unwanted broomtails that were left there and died. The light there is beautiful in the early morning and evenings.

Poor broomtails but their unfortunate demise gave this incredible location a really cool cowboy-western name. Another magnificent-wide-open spaces-beautiful- red-rock-textures-and-formation-under-a- blue-southwestern-sky-complete-with-a- marvelous-twisty-and-gnarled-juniper of a capture! We couldn't ask for more...excellent, yet again, Marty! #8714895Candice C. Calhoun June 24, 2010

I've read lots of westerns where the cowboys corraled the broomtails in canyons like this. Great exposure so you can see and the nooks and crannies. Awesome light on the tree and perfect composition #8718192Ron McEwan June 27, 2010
My friend this is my third attempt, wifi is awful out here. We like the same thing Marty, I have a shot almost like this at a different time of day to include the old remains of a juniper I think it is my gallery. Great job here with detail and rich color saturation. Thanks for commenting on my gallery while I am gone. #8719442Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
