Post-rock fence, Smoky Hill region, Kansas

Description

Limestone posts were used by settlers as trees were scarce on the prairie. Pride has gone into maintaining this fence, much as it was originally laid out.

Many thanks, Jeff and Jeana, for your nice comments. I was especially pleased to find this fence-came over a small hill on a dirt road and there it was. It is the best post rock fence I've seen and it was fun trying to capture its essence. -- Bill #8756917
