I really like this image. I like the depth of field. The focus is sharp on the center of the flower. The petals do look like waves. I did not see the leaf tip at the right until after reading Tony's comment. Now of course, I can't help but notice it. Maybe you just need to do a little Photoshop work - ouline the petal and clone out the leaf.

I see that we are both located in Oregon. I live in Portland. Where are you located?

Hi, Tim. Thanks for your comment.

I live on the east side in the Milwaukie/Clackamas area, just off I205. Where are you?

I did work on the image. Of course, Tony is right! I think it looks much better without the leaf.

I live just off the Sylvan exit of the Sunset Hwy (26).

Do you know any really good places to go shooting. I have been all around the Washington Park Rose Garden. I have found that Roses are not really the best photo subjects.

I plan to go to the dahlia fields in Canby in August. And also a trip to the Oregon Garden some weekend soon. But, other than that, I have been shooting anything I can find in my neighborhood. Where do find is the best place for flowers?

I'm in about the same place you are as far as finding subjects to shoot. So far I've just been photographing things in my own yard. I'm planning a trip to the Oregon Gardens, too. Right now I'm looking around wondering where to work on Repetition! We'll have to go exploring...let me know if you find a good spot. You can email me at the address in the student contact list if you want to.
