And here comes a 1946. . . .

Uploaded: July 11, 2005

My grabber shot; f/4.5, 1/250, 28-105mm, f/3.5-4.5D, 105mm This was at the 21st annual Antique Power and Steam Show. This guy was announcing the entrants in the tractor parade. I wanted to isolate him against the background of the tractors so use a wide open aperature. Tractors were entering the arena on the far side and leaving on the near side. The tractors leaving were too close to get good separation so I went for a shot with a tractor just entering the arena. Also a vertical shot did not show enough of a tractor to give the viewer good context of what was going on so I went with the horizontal shot. I set my camera on fast continuous and fired away when a tractor started to enter the arena.
