Hidden Pond

Uploaded: May 18, 2010

Description

This is from one of my favorite places within Nescopeck State Park, PA. It's not near the main part of the park, and I've only seen anyone else there once. After crawling from the creek that feeds the pond, I saw a little girl standing there in her snowsuit holding out her hand with my remote shutter release. "Did you lose this?" she asked. Weird, huh. Thought I was in the twilight zone, and didn't even realize I lost it. Then I saw her parents with her. They came to ice skate.

The framing on this idyllic scene is just super, Marty. Love the foreground plants that then circle around, taking our attention with them to encompass all of the scene and right round again to the front. I thought for a minute you were saying the folks had come to ice skate when you took this shot. They'd have been more than a little late for the season. :) #1269937

Thanks, Mitch. You're right. The story has holes because I didn't want to ramble. This place is right near the road, yet quite secluded. I just wanted to mention that I've been there countless times and never saw anyone except that once ~which was a rather weird experience. Thanks for your wonderful comment and giving me the chance to elaborate. Am I rqambling yet? #8619630

Beautiful circular motion captured, Marty, as Mitch noted..I love when I can do that - keep the eyes within the comp, moving around, taking it in...you've done just that with this very serene capture of one of your favorite spots - a grand tour for the eyes! #8624299
