the Poppy

Uploaded: April 23, 2010

Description

Using 70-300mm IS USM. Experimenting with non-macro close-up. There was a subtle breeze and I wanted to see what effects I could get keeping dof under 7.1, ISO 400 or under. Evening light, hand held diffuser to shade foreground and leave background with mottled light effect, remote shutter release, waiting for the least amount of movement of flower - focus on flower center. Minor crop on left for composition, no other adjustments. I like the ethereal quality.
