Up Close 'n' Personal...
Uploaded: July 03, 2005
My first real attempt at a macro, taken with my Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DL Macro Super II - in macro mode, of course: 1/160s f/11.0 at 300.0mm iso400.

I love photographing bumblebees -- very nice job! Getting "up close 'n' personal" without getting stung is a cool rush! :-) #272901Bobbie Davis July 03, 2005
For the first real attempt as you put it-- you did awesome!! WOW! #1550210Bill K. Ko July 03, 2005
Thanks, Cyntia and Bobbie!I never realized just how difficult it is to do macro photography, especially hand-held, like this one was. The depth of field is so shallow that ANY slight movement forward or backwards and it's out of focus. I had to snap the shot the instant the camera told me I was focussed, so I took a bunch of pictures, hoping one of them would turn out right... #1550317

Thanks, everyone, for your responses! I was "afraid" to delve into the world of macro shooting, because it is difficult. Your comments give me a boost in confidence. :) #1552043Tonya R. Boles July 05, 2005

Thanks, Tonya! (blush)I decided to get out of the animal and flower categories because you kind of have the market cornerd on them. ;) #1563049
