Flutter by Butterfly - Leaves in the Breeze

Uploaded: July 01, 2005

Description

The antennae is from a stem, the body is the edge of a leaf that I mirrored then made thinner, the wings are two leaves and the sky is from a separate photo. For the shadow of the underlying wings, I made the top two wings into one layer, then did the same for the bottom wings, next I used the magic wand around the bottom wings, inverted my selection then selected the top wings layer, copied and pasted, then selected around and inverted selection on the new layer, painted the selection black and reduced the Fill opacity to 10 percent.

Thanks for the nice comments folks.
Grin... Laura, I guess what I was saying about how I got the shadow from the bottom wings to appear visible through the top wings, to emulate the sunlight coming through was this.
Basically, what I mentioned in the description allowed me to make a black filled shape of the part of the bottom wings that isn't visible in the image, and make it transparent enough so that it looked like a faint shadow on the top wings. :)
I've added some visual steps below to show you the process I used.
Hope that helps. :)
