I love the colours and textures in this photo. I think the only thing that spoils this for me is the black between the division in the two planks. It seems to cut the picture in two and for me is a little distracting. Overall a very nice shot.

Thanks Adam. I've had many people comment to me about the same thing that you have mentioned with the division of the planks. On the other hand I've had just as many people say that they like it as is. This was exactly how I found it so I just chose to simply leave it as is but I do understand what you are saying. Thank you for taking the time to stop and comment, I appreciate it. #6404

I agree 100% with what you have said. I have taken photos where people have said remove this or do this. It may be a more technically correct shot but in your own heart you are not being true to how you found your subject matter. I believe you have to be true to yourself and please yourself before anyone else. Have a look at Red Fern that I have just posted. Same thing... people have said move the blades of grass they are distracting but that is not how I found this Fern bathed in a pool of light.

Love this photo, Betsy! The gray of the old wood makes such a perfect background for the colorful leaves! For me, nothing enhances color more than shades of gray. #50984
