The Perfect Spot

-- Rosa 'Alba Semi Plena' and a Leopard Moth --
Without a doubt, this is one of the most difficult pieces I've worked on to date. I had to make the moth look like it had landed on the rose, so there was much masking, brush work, and burning involved to create realistic shadows. To echo the moth's markings and the dark stamens of the rose, I used spotted textures from Jai Johnson and then blended all the elements together in Topaz photoFXlab.
