Description

While out touring a DC garden, I found this very large, old wisteria cascading over a wall; you could walk in and under the hanging flowers, almost like an umbrella made of wisteria blooms.

Beth, I spotted this in the gardens at Dumbarton Oaks in upper Georgetown. (There were several old wisteria like this, actually; but this one was spilling over a garden staircase, making it easy to "step inside".) The gardens are open (for an entrance fee) in the afternoons most days during spring-fall, and are free, afternoons during late-fall through mid-March. #11300823
