I had the opportunity to go flying at sunset the other day. It was so fantastic!! We flew between the mountains during sunset. This photo show's Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams in the background

Teresa, this is an incredible capture and is definitely a winner. The texture, the mountain, the color and the composition are a one in a lifetime view.

Even so, I think you can improve on it slightly with just a simple levels adjustment. Check your histogram and tweak the black and white sliders to taste.

You might also consider a 3x5 crop to cut a bit of the sky and balance the composition closer to a 1/3 to 2/3 ratio. However, the crop is simply a subjective suggestion 'cause the existing image works well as is. #10646054

I completely agree with Dale. If this doesn't get you a First Place or a Grand, try Dale's suggestion and resub.

I entered this in the contest before Dale gave me his suggestions. It hasn't even gotten an EP. I find that a little odd.

I'm posting 2 variations. I applied the levels suggestion (love the difference). I also tried Dale's 1x3 prop. I felt that was a bit to cramped so I tried a custom crop. #10657607
