Description

A giraffe's 6-foot (1.8 meter) neck weighs about 600 pounds (272 kilograms).
This baby giraffe just reaches just to it's mother's neck

Of the nine giraffe subspecies, the Uganda giraffe is the only one that is endangered,
now surviving in only a few small, isolated populations in Kenya and Uganda.
However,at the Safari Park in San Diego there have been 115 births so far, with more calves due this year!

Dear Photo Friend: I feel that something has changed at Better Photo but cannot tell you just what has happened. I have been here since 2003 and most every month I have written to all the winners telling them how their work touches me. I have witnessed photographs that bring tears to my eyes and colors that are unbelievable, now I am worried that like all good things that it will not be here the next time I look.
But the feeling of not being able to congratulate all the winners for the hard work, and sharing their talent with all of us makes me so sad.
However it turns out and even if this is the last time I have this privilege, to let you know how exceptional your work has been, please know that I will never forget.
