Palace of Culture and Science

Built in 1955 and designed by Lev Rudnev,it was a gift from the Soviet Union for Polish people. It is the tallest building in POland 231m (757ft),the eithth in Europe and 187th in the world. The building serves as an exhibition center and office complex. The terrace on the top is a tourist attraction with a panoramic view of the city. Its a controversial building as has different nicknames used by inhabitants of Warsaw like "Stalin's syringe" or "Russian Wedding Cake" or "Clown" because the sound of this word in Polish is very close to the world "palace",also 'Beijing" which is Polish is "Pekin" (Palac Kultury I Nauki-PKIN).
Warsaw, Poland.
