Beach ripples

Uploaded: September 27, 2004 23:05:51

Description

Photographed at Findhorn Sands, Moray, Scotland. The beach is devoid of rocks and almost any other feature and despite a good sunset it was difficult to find a rewarding composition. I got down very low and used the sand ripples to lead my eye and catch the reflected light. Pentax 67ll, 55-100 zoom, F22 at 1 sec, 0.6 ND grad filter, Fuji Velvia.

Such a stunning photo, Ian! I love how the reflections seems like another sky...so endless and the ripples of sand are given depth by the tips of color. #808834

How fortuitous that it was difficult to find a good composition, Ian, because it forced you to find a truly stunning one! This is one of the most beautiful sunset photographs I have ever seen. Bet we'll be seeing more of this! #809157
