Description

For some odd reason this old building just really grabbed my attention.... This place was built in the late 1800's on the coast of Maine and it is still used today where they build custom wooden boats. (PSE7 + NIK Silver Efex)

Jeff- Way to go my friend in seeing this and knowing it was full of photo wonders. I love the lines, some vertical, some horazontal, and some diagonal. This is such a fantastic EOD study. The black and white is natural and keeps the look simple but with so much to offer. The stairs are such a special look and the shadows under them such a bonus.

I find these interesting also, I have several that I shot in Cedar Key Florida, will have to try one in the contest, I took mine at a different angle, love what you did in yours. Oh, thanks for comment on "Goin muddin" We were heading out to do a shoot in the country, stopped at this Jiffy store, guy pulled up in his jacked up ford pulling 2- 4 wheelers, Shelby asked him if we could shoot some pictures of his truck, did a series right in the parking lot...stay tuned for more

I am so glad that this placed, several years ago I had an issue with a judge who stated that photos should not be taken at noon, because of the shadows, it was the shadows that made the photo, great image #8424960

First my warmest and heartiest Aussie congratz for the EP, Finalist and 2nd Place awards this great geometric B&W as brought you. May you have more success with it in future.
For anyone who has a geometric or mathematical brain this is a feast for the eyes. But it is not only the lines. angles, shapes and their juxtaposition which give this photograph its impact. It also holds the interest very well in that the window makes a strong focal point from whence the eye can explore the image by travelling along all the lines. B&W is a terrific choice for this subject and your processing has rendered extremely good contrast and tonal range all based upon your initial good exposure.
Delightful viewing and well worth return visits.
