Golden Reflections
Uploaded: October 14, 2003 03:39:21
Aperature priority at f/22, shutter unrecorded, Provia 100 film, Canon 75-300mm lens set at 300mm, Bogen tripod. Taken in very late afternoon sunlight just before sunset. I used the long telephoto and small aperature to slow the slowly moving water down.

Looks like a wave of molten gold washed up on the shore, Pat, lovely light and imagery. #232029Patricia A. Cale October 14, 2003 0
Thanks, Carol. I had seen shots using this technique and wanted to try it. But I left a little bit of the boat in the frame to let you know what you are looking at. For some reason, I like reflections that show some characteristics of the original subject. If I had just had the reflection in the frame, the colors would have been pretty, but I felt that the view may not have known that it was a boat that was the reflection. Since this was done on slide film with my Elan, I was able to use a much slower shutter speed than my digital camera allowed. Hmmm, it may be time to get a digital SLR...only because all the photo stores in my area take about 2 weeks to get the slides back. Then, I forget what was on the film. This shot was a nice surprise. #232074Cathy Shotz November 18, 2003 0
