Hartwell Tavern is a restored 18th century home and tavern on "Battle Road" in Lincoln MA. This was the road that the British troops used on April 19, 1775. The soldiers passed by the tavern on their way to Concord, and again on their way back to Boston. On the night of April 18th, an advance guard of British soldiers captured Paul Revere and William Dawes just down the road from the tavern.

A wonderful scene Gail! I love the old rock fence! #11384422Barbara Socor October 10, 2015
This is so well captured and rendered...The figure in the doorway lends a "pop" of color, scale, and adds to the story here....Wonderful work, Gail! #11384564frank w. degenhardt October 11, 2015
The look is just so gorgeous Gail, sort of a glowing sepia in color and I love the way the colors of the lady in the door way stand out, a beautiful focus point. The stone wall, the shape and look of the building, that massive tree trunk, the fall season. Added to all this beauty is the fabulous read about the history of the place. A winner in all categories. #11384586
