Morning Glow [Flowers]
Uploaded: February 05, 2005 07:24:17
Shot yesterday morning at Mercer Gardens with 70-200mm & X1.4 tele-converter. I knew this was special the minute I looked through the viewfinder :0) Slight crop, cloned out small lily pad and a few sensor dust spots, then my usual post process routine before applying the Simplifier #1 in Photoshop CS.

Very nice #1085366Jim Kinnunen February 05, 2005
Wow...this is excellently done Murry!!! I just finally took the plunge and cleaned my sensor with a Copper Hill kit. I had a dark spec just off center in all my macros and the Rocket blower wouldn't bugde it. The cleaner got it and my camera stil works:-) Again, this is a truly great image!!! #1085371Sherri L. Regalbuto February 05, 2005
Murry this is a truly amazing shot. Beautiful and so clear. What were your settings for this shot? #1085378Deborah Lewinson February 05, 2005
Exquisite image, Murry, outstanding in every way!Murry Grigsby February 05, 2005
Thanks all for the nice comments! I've added the camera settings to the original description for those interested like Sherri. Jim, I'm too chicken to try the Copper Hill cleaning! I'd rather spend the time in PS cleaning the dust spots up as opposed to me messing up the camera :0) #1085463S J February 05, 2005

This is just beautiful, Murry...I'm a chicken too about trying to clean my sensor, I paid $25.00 to have it done at a camera repair shop & after a few lens changes some dust spots were visible again:( #1085620Kathleen R. Struckle February 05, 2005
Just beautiful Murray!! #1085732Dale Gast February 05, 2005
Beautiful, Murry!!! Great editing as well!!! #1085807Murry Grigsby February 05, 2005
Thanks all! I think the sealed body is one of the biggest advantages that the digicams have over the DSLRs--no lens changing, no dust on the sensor :0) #1085881Janet L. Skinner February 05, 2005
Special indeed!!!! I have never cleaned anythiing in my camera.....maybe I should :) #1085943Paul Michko February 05, 2005

Murry, this is a fantastic image! Like Stan says..the lily and pads do look like they're floating on mercury and do you realize the lilly pad behind the beautiful purple flower resembles a fish??!! Fantastic shot! I haven't been to Mercer Gardens in years (go figure)! #1086361Cathy Stancil February 05, 2005

Thank you so much for all the kind words! Shooting back against the hazy sun did make the water glow like mercury. Jane you should stop by Mercer occasionally because there is always something in bloom and when they fill the bird feeders you can get some shots of birds, squirrels, etc. Here's a big bird I shot flying over! #1086994Marsha S. Smith February 06, 2005
I love it! The flower looks like it is lit from within. Just beautiful. #1087681Marsha S. Smith February 06, 2005
