Sierra Colors [Contest Pre Finalists September 2013]
Uploaded: September 23, 2013 03:44:51
Along Highway 395, which runs north-south on the east side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There are many pockets of aspens, with brilliant fall colors, on the eastern slopes of the mountains. This photo was from Oct 19th, which is generally a good time to visit this area. Yosemite National Park, Lee Vining, Bodi ghost town, and Mono Lake are all within a few hours of each other.

Magnificent! Was in that vicinity once--saw all the places you name except Bodi.I think "Lee Vining" is my favorite town name (so far). #10851728
